Well, I’ve been anxiously checking the weather reports for the Stony Lake area. Art director Kim Zagar and I are supposed to head up there for a photo shoot next week, but everything depends on whether the weather co-operates. To bring you all those beautiful photos of cottage country every issue, we need sun to get the shots, and right now it’s looking like rain—and a lot of it.
We usually rough out about a week when we can go to a cottage for a shoot, based on when the cottagers will be there and when a photographer is available. Then closer to the date, we narrow it down to two preferred days and a third rain date, to accommodate Mother Nature. But when it looks like rain all week, as it does right now, we have to play it day by day. Bags will be packed and gear ready to go, because we may not know until the night before if we’ll be heading out the next morning.
Keep your fingers crossed for us that it doesn’t rain all week!
